La Spezia – Montemarcello – Lerici

On-road route on-road through Montemarcello, Bocca di Magra and Lerici The first part offers a beautiful panorama of the gulf as far as Portovenere and its islands, the second makes you pedal through olive groves and cork trees with almost no traffic. In Montemarcello, we recommend the bar Il Giardino for stuffed focaccia and drinks. Continuing on, you descend towards Bocca di Magra, and after Romito Magra you return to Lerici (where a stop is recommended) and then to La Spezia.
Alta Via delle Cinque Terre (AV5T)
44 km, 5/8 hrs, disl. 1400 mt
Off-road route linking Portovenere and Levanto. Of course, it can also be cycled only in part, stopping for example at Campiglia (a good point for refuelling with water or provisions). The signposts along the route are accurate. The road surface is varied and never boring, and is well maintained: in some stretches it may still be necessary to get out of the saddle to push the bike, but they are always very short stretches. You will often enjoy breathtaking views of the coastline.
